  • I believe that every individual carries a deeply unique story and a distinct way of integrating into the world. In my practice, I do not view myself as an expert who holds all the answers, but rather as a collaborative partner and guide. My mission is to empower your autonomy and help you uncover the profound strengths that already live within you. Together, we will gently explore the narratives of your life to discover the hidden insights, resilience, and wisdom that you may not yet have realized are there.

Central to my work is a dedication to social justice and systemic awareness. I am deeply conscious of the heavy, often unseen weights carried by individuals—the rigid, dominant storylines taught to us by society, family, and culture. Too often, these external expectations are internalized, leaving people feeling deficient, defeated, or trapped in cycles of self-doubt. My mission is to help you break these cycles. Together, we will shine a light on the "exceptions"—those moments of quiet resistance, strength, and authenticity where you chose a path true to yourself, even if it went unnoticed.

I am committed to providing an inclusive, safe, and secure therapeutic environment where trust can be naturally built. Here, you are invited into an exploratory experience that goes beyond the intellectual. We will work to bridge the gap between the mind and the body, creating a space where you can safely explore your inner peace, honor your present feelings, and reclaim your wholeness.

  • My practice is defined by a warm, non-judgmental presence and a deeply trauma-informed framework. I firmly believe that healing is not a "one-size-fits-all" process. Because of this, I draw from a diverse, integrative toolkit of evidence-based modalities, tailoring my approach to match the unique blueprint of each client. I am also deeply committed to continuous growth as a practitioner; I am constantly learning and studying new clinical frameworks to better serve your evolving needs, including current advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and future expansions into Internal Family Systems (IFS).

I operate from an anti-oppressive, feminist, and neurodivergent-informed lens. This means we will openly acknowledge how systemic marginalization, cultural conditioning, and unique neurological wiring shape how you experience the world. Therapy with me is a living, present-moment conversation. I am highly attentive to your immediate reactions, emotional shifts, and somatic expressions in the room, fluidly adjusting my pacing to support you.

To cultivate a truly holistic healing experience, I blend practical skills and deep exploratory approaches from:

    • Narrative Therapy: To externalize problems and highlight your innate strengths.

    • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): For tangible coping skills and emotional regulation.

    • Mindfulness & Somatic (Body-Centered) Approaches: To help you form a compassionate mind-body connection and release stress where it gets stuck in the nervous system.

    • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT): To navigate underlying attachment needs and emotional patterns.

  • Growing up in China, I was surrounded by a culture and a family system that had very specific ideas about what a "good" or "successful" life looked like. For a long time, I tried to follow that script, but I always felt a quiet friction underneath. I was the person in my family who looked at things differently, and that eventually led me to become the first and only person in my entire extended family to pursue clinical counseling—a path that was often misunderstood or met with the cultural stigma that mental health is something to be kept quiet.

Moving to North America added a new layer to my story. I found myself navigating the "messy middle" between two worlds: the roots I came from and the new life I was building from the ground up. I spent years learning how to belong to myself when I didn't feel like I fully belonged to either culture. Along the way, I had to navigate my own journey of understanding my sexuality and embracing my neurodivergent mind. I know what it’s like to feel the pressure to fit into a mold that was never designed for you, and the exhaustion that comes from trying to meet everyone’s expectations but your own.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked closely with immigrant families and their children. It was there that I saw how much pain is caused by "lost in translation" moments—not just between languages, but between generations. I saw kids who were struggling with big emotions being called "disobedient" simply because they didn't have the words to explain their stress. I saw parents who were so overwhelmed by the struggle of settling into a new country that they couldn't see their child’s hurting heart. Seeing those invisible walls between loved ones is what truly drew me to this work. I wanted to be the bridge-builder I wish my community had.

Today, I’ve found my own grounding by learning to honor my own internal pace. I’ve realized that healing isn't about fixing yourself so you finally "fit in." It’s about gathering all the scattered, confusing pieces of your life and realizing that every version of you—the immigrant, the seeker, the neurodivergent soul—is worthy of kindness.
